NHAI

I recently had a chance of driving (actually sitting on the back seat, while a driver was driving) on newly constructed highway stretch (G.T. Road) from Agra, and it was really really great. During all of about 60kms, one seldom experiences a glitch, except when the driver himself tests the brakes. It's a pleasant surprise once u r habitual of bangalore roads!! Many stretches and turns seem to be coming straight from the movies (where they show seldom used film studio roads).

The 60kms journey from Agra to my hometown that used to take 2.5 to 3 hrs earlier took only 1hr for all the three times. Even considering that on an average time saving will not be that great over a large distance, it must be greatly reducing costs for the transporters.

The next day I read in a magazine that much of the project is delayed by a heavy margin and many stretches are yet to be completed. Partly because many contractors failed to deliver. Yet, I would like to appreciate for the quality despite the delay.
